Who says you can’t be a fan of both modern and traditional art? Many homeowners find themselves in a decorative pickle of sorts when they have a home that is outfitted in traditional dеcor but their tastes run more to the contemporary. The market is ripe with beautiful contemporary wall art and wall sculptures. And surprisingly, in an industry where modern art was once austere and cold, it has now taken on a fresh and inviting new look. For this reason, it has become trendy for even those homes that are considered to be traditionally decorated to add elements of modern art into their decorative scheme. The result is a somewhat eclectic approach to individualized style that is all their own, and that oozes their personality. The tips that follow will help you to incorporate the use of modern art in a traditional setting.

Contemporary Frameless Paintings

Frameless contemporary paintings on canvas are a wonderful addition to your traditional home dеcor and can add decorative appeal to any room. Select paintings with bold, contrasting colors, such as a frame of a single bloom that can be hung alone or in a series of paintings to create a gird on your wall or even as a trio above a fireplace mantel. Bold colors will be a big influence on other colors in your room, and you can draw from these colors to create cohesion throughout the space by adding similarly colored throws, pillows, rugs and so on.

Modern Table Sculptures

Adding a beautifully modern table sculpture to your space can be a wonderful way of showing your love of modern art in your traditional space. Go for a piece that is eye-catching but not so visually busy that it draws attention away from other elements within the room. Choose sculpture that has one or more colors that are found within the space, or use the sculpture as a color inspiration and draw the colors for your room from the sculpture.

Modern Wall Sculpture

The possibilities for contemporary metal wall sculptures in the traditional home are endless; the same is true of modern wood wall art. You will find a plethora of wall sculptures on the market today that are modern by design but that can easily fit into your traditional dеcor theme. For example, a modern metal tree wall sculpture can be a beautiful addition to your family room or den. A tree of life wall sculpture can bring a natural element to your space while still maintaining a modern appeal that is quite distinct.

Paneled Wall Art Sets

Another great option for adding modern art to your traditional home is displaying large paneled wall art sets. These groupings of wall art panels feature three to seven (sometimes more) panels that are typically made from aluminum and that feature an abstract design or a modern rendition of a scene. For example, in your traditional country themed room, you might hang a metal wall art grouping of seven panels that depicts a forest landscape. These large works of art are simply breathtaking and can become an eye-catching focal point in your space.
